8.4 MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS
ATTENTION
Change or restore all components damaged, wear or that don’t work properly.
Tighten all the bolts in accordance with the tightening torques and using a torque wrench.
I. G
ENERAL
I.a All components: cleaning, deterioration and wear
Check, visually, the condition of the components and clean, using a rag, water and neutral
soap.
For the use of cleaning products, see the instructions for each component.
I.b Signs, labels, signals and diagrams
Check, visually, that all labels, signs, diagrams, and documents are in the correct position,
clearly visible and undamaged. If necessary clean using a rag, water and neutral soap.
II. PIT
II.a Electrical safety devices
Check, manually and using a tester, that all installed safety devices and contacts are working,
free in their movements and where necessary lubricated.
Check that the safety contacts of the pit ladder are working properly and that the ladder is
securely fixed, free in movement and stable in the rest and use positions.
II.b Guide rails
Remove fluid or grease excess by wiping the ends of the guides with a dry rag or a sponge,
lubricating, if necessary, the lower guide rail part passing on the side where the shoes lean,
with a rag soaked in oil.
II.c Buffers
Check, visually, that the buffers are placed and return to the correct position and that they are
not damaged.
Check that the buffers supports and basements are securely fixed and, if necessary, tighten
the fixing bolts.
Check, if hydraulic buffers, oil level, lubrication and that the electrical contact works properly,
using, if necessary, a tester
II.d Rope fixings
Verify that the ropes terminals and clamps are clean and properly tightened and secured.
Check, visually, that the ropes terminals and clamps are clean and if necessary clean them.
Check the correct tightening of the bolts.
II.e Pit cleaning
Clean and / or dry the pit at the end of maintenance operations
Check that the waterproofing of the pit is efficient and is not damaged.
