8.3 MAINTENANCE SCHEDULES
ATTENTION
Change or restore all components damaged, wear or that don’t work properly.
I. G
ENERAL
I.a All components: cleaning, deterioration and wear
Verify, for their correct working, that any component is sufficiently clean, free from corrosion
and in good conditions.
I.b Signs, labels, signals and diagrams
Verify that all the signs, labels and signals are in the correct position, clearly visible and not
deteriorated.
Verify the completeness and immediate availability of warning signs, diagrams and system
documentation.

IT
II.a Electrical safety devices
Verify that all installed safety devices and safety contacts are functioning, free in their
movements and if necessary lubricated (see list in Appendix 4.2)
Verify that the pit ladder and its safety contacts are working properly
II.b Guide rails
Eliminate the fluid or the grease excess at the ends of the guides
Lubricate, if necessary, the lower piece of the guide rail
II.c Buffers
Verify that the buffers are in the correct position and are not damaged
Verify the fixing of the supports and the basements of the buffers
Verify, if hydraulic buffers, oil level, lubrication and the electrical contact
II.d Rope fixings
Verify that the ropes terminals and clamps are clean and properly tightened and secured.
II.e Pit cleaning
Verify, at the end of maintenance, that the pit is clean, properly waterproof, dry and free of
debris.

NSIDE WELL
III.a Electrical safety devices
Verify that all installed safety devices and safety contacts are functioning, free in their
movements and if necessary lubricated (see list in Appendix 4.2)
III.b Guide rails
Verify that the guides, if/where required, are properly lubricated
Verify the oil level and correct working of guide lubricator (if installed).
Verify the distance and the position of the guides using a template.
Verify that all the bolts are well tights to fishplates and guides.
III.c Shoes (or rollers)
Verify fixing status, wear and cleaning of the shoes/rollers on car frame and pulley-frame
Verify the shoes position and, if necessary, take up slacks returning them to the correct values.
