5.2 INFORMATION FOR RESCUERS
CAUTION!
Rescue operations must be carried out by authorised and skilled people.
The intervention of authorised personnel is necessary if:
AUTHORISED PERSON
• The lift stops and people trapped inside the car have to be
rescued using the manual emergency operation (e.g. due to a
power failure, lift fault or natural events)
• It is necessary to enter the machinery room or use the
emergency key during rescue operations.
Rescuer – Maintenance technician
• The lift stops and people trapped inside the car or well are to be
rescued or must be rescued by moving the lift with an operation
other than manual emergency operation.
• Malfunctions that render the lift unusable (unscheduled
maintenance required) have been reported to the lift owner.
• It is necessary to enter the machinery room, carry out
maintenance operations or use the emergency key to enter the
car or well.
Maintenance technician
CAUTION!
If passengers are trapped in the car or if the lift does not operate as required, the maintenance
company should be contacted immediately.
IMPORTANT!
Everything needed to perform the emergency operation is located inside the electrical cabinet or
in the machine room.
EMERGENCY KEY
When the doors have to be opened even if the car is not on the landing, the locking device must be operated with the
triangular emergency key and following the procedure below:
1. Apply the necessary lift shutdown and warning signs.
2. Perform the emergency operation and take the car to floor level.
3. Insert the emergency key into the hole on the landing door.
4. Turn the key and open the door carefully.
• The emergency key must be kept safely in the machine room.
• This key may only be used by the lift maintenance company’s personnel or by authorised and properly
trained personnel.
• When the operation is complete, check that the door locking device does not remain in the unlocked
position when the landing door is closed, as also indicated on the label attached to the key.
• In case of coupled landing and car doors, a device ensures that the landing door automatically closes if for
any reason the door is open when the car has left the release area.
