Adjusting the Shifting
The Gocycle has three speeds that may require adjustment from time to time as the shifting cable stretches.
To adjust the shifting mechanism:
1. Turn the barrel adjuster clockwise until it is turned ‘in’ all the way.
2. Shift into 1st gear.
3. On a flat surface and not in the presence of moving traffic, pedal gently, and then turn the gear shifter into
2nd gear. Did you feel a difference in the pedal resistance or hear the change in the sound of the rear gear
clicking? If no, go to step 4. If yes, then continue pedalling gently and shift into 3rd gear. Did you again feel
and hear a difference in the pedal resistance or the sound of the rear gear clicking? If no, go to step 4. If
yes, you have adjusted the shifting correctly.
4. Stop the Gocycle and turn the barrel adjuster out one-half turn. Go to Step 2.
