CHAPTER 3 Settings and Measurement
Access point setting
The GL840 can be connected to wireless sensor (GL100-WL) or remote terminal (GLT400).
In the access point setting, this function must be set when the GL840 operates as a base unit.
When selecting the wireless LAN as a station and then restarting the wireless LAN, the following screen is
displayed.
Selection item Description
Access point setting SSID input Set the SSID (access point identication name) of the GL840.
Up to 32 characters of the alphanumeric characters and symbols can be entered.
Encryption
method
Perform the encryption setting.
WEP: Set the WEP key to 10 digits alphanumeric characters and symbols for the
WEP64 and to 26 digits alphanumeric characters for the WEP128.
WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK: Set the password in 8 to 63 alphanumeric characters and
symbols.
WEP key This is displayed when the encryption was set. Perform the key setting.
Channel Perform 1ch to 12ch settings.
Stealth Set the SSID concealment mode.
11n Select whether or not to use the 11ch.
Apply settings Reect the settings of the encryption method, WEP key, and password.
Other setting AP-IP setting Perform the TCP-IP setting.
After setting, restart to reect the settings.
<Operation procedure>
(1) Set the SSID.
Enter in accordance with the procedure in "(8) Character string input" described below.
By default, the identication name automatically generated from the GL840 name is displayed.
(2) Set the encryption method.
WEP or WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK settings can be performed.
When the WIP system is selected, the [WEP] key is displayed.
When the WPA-PSK/WPA2-PSK system is selected, the “Password” is displayed. Then, enter in
accordance with the procedure in "(8) Character string input" described below.
(3) Set the wireless LAN channel to be used to one of 1ch to 12ch.
(4) Set the stealth.
This is used to set as so to not be able to search the SSID from the other terminal. Enter directly the SSID
name to the device to be connected.
(5) Set the 11n.
When the IEEE802.11n is used, set to "ON".
Select the "Apply settings" with the key when the above settings are nished.
The "Wireless LAN restarting" message is displayed and the main unit is re-started to reect the settings.
