5.6 Dosing control
The dosing control signal given to the dosing pump depends on
the type of pump:
• A digital dosing pump needs a current signal 0(4)-20mA.
• A mechanical dosing pump needs the voltage (power-on/
power-off) from the dosing control.
5.6.1 Control mode
The selected control mode depends on the application.
Proportional control
The proportional control mode is particularly suitable for drinking
water applications.
The dosing pump doses in proportion to the flow rate of the water
meter:
• A water meter measures the flow rate in the main water line,
and continuously sends the measured values to the control.
• The proportional control calculates the required ClO
2
dosing
volume in proportion to the water flow rate in the main line.
• The proportional control sends an actuating variable to the
dosing pump.
• The dosing pump doses the required quantity of ClO
2
solution
from the internal batch tank into the main water line.
• An optional measuring cell monitors the ClO
2
concentration in
the main line.
The system has to be flushed with water to remove
any traces of chemicals in the suction hoses, pumps
and reaction tank in the following situations:
Prior to decommissioning
prior to maintenance and repair.
