Prepare and Position Engine

Remove engine mounting brackets and position the engine on the motor mount.

Attach Engine Mounting Brackets

Place mounting brackets, insert screws and nuts, and tighten to secure the engine.

Section 14: Radio and Servo Installation

Install and Secure Aileron Servo

Install servo grommets, mark mounting holes, drill, and secure the aileron servo in the wing.

Position and Mark Rudder, Elevator, Throttle Servos

Install grommets, label servos, position in tray, and mark mounting holes.

Secure Rudder, Elevator, Throttle Servos

Drill servo mounting holes, re-install servos, and secure them with screws.

Install Receiver and Battery Pack

Use foam to secure receiver and battery pack in the front fuselage compartment.

Connect Radio System and Center Servos

Hook up servos, turn on radio, center trims, and electrically center servos.

Position Servo Horns for Center

Replace servo horns at 90 degrees to the fuselage center line for control rod setup.

Section 15: Control Linkage Installation

Prepare Aileron Horns and Linkage Rods

Remove aileron horns, thread them onto torque rods, and locate short rods and clevises.

Attach Clevises and Mark Aileron Pushrods

Attach clevises, add tubing for security, and mark pushrod positions on servo arm.

Create Aileron Z-Bends and Adjust Linkage

Make z-bends, install into servo arm, and adjust rod length for neutral aileron position.

Assemble Rudder Pushrod

Assemble rudder pushrod using dowel, threaded rod, heat shrink, and CA glue.

Complete Rudder Pushrod Assembly

Slide heat shrink tubing, shrink it, and complete the rudder pushrod assembly.

Install Rudder Pushrod and Attach Clevis

Cut rudder pushrod exit, insert assembly, and attach clevis to rudder control horn.

Center Rudder Servo and Install Pushrod

Center rudder servo, mark pushrod, make z-bend, and insert into servo arm.

Assemble and Install Elevator Pushrod

Cut elevator exit, assemble pushrod, insert into fuselage, and attach clevis to horn.

Center Elevator Servo and Create Pushrod Z-Bend

Center elevator servo, mark pushrod, make z-bend, and insert into servo arm.

Install Throttle Linkage to Carburetor

Connect throttle rod to carburetor lever, ensuring halfway open position.

Section 16: Plumbing the Engine

Connect Fuel Lines and Install Muffler

Install muffler/glow plug, connect fuel tank vent tube to muffler pressure fitting, and attach fuel tube.

Section 18: Balancing the Model

Determine and Check Center of Gravity (C.G.)

Mark the 3-3/4" CG point and check balance by lifting the model.
