8.2 SNAC port
The main SNAC port (Serial Native Accessory Converter) is located on the front panel of the
Multisystem. This is NOT a USB 3.0 port; it just uses the same connector as per the existing MiSTer
I/O board.
Standard SNAC adaptors can be used directly in the Multisystem SNAC port (Sega 9 pin is shown
above).
The SNAC port on the Multisystem has a built-in level shifter, so the dongle device shown above is
not required if you intend to use classic gaming controllers directly connected to the SNAC port.
A short USB 3.0 extension cable can also be used to locate the SNAC boards more conveniently if
required.
