10/26 – User Manual
To check for updates for your DJ Console Mk2:
- Right-click the DJ Console Mk2 icon in the system tray and select Check for updates.
Note: If you are running Windows XP SP2 and have the Windows firewall enabled, a Windows
Security Alert will appear, asking whether you want to keep blocking this program (Name:
Guillemot Web Updater; Publisher: Guillemot Inc.).
- If prompted by the Windows firewall, click Unblock to allow Windows to access the Guillemot
FTP server.
If no new version is available, a message will appear indicating that you already have the latest
version installed. If a new version is available, it will be downloaded and the setup will launch
automatically.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update for your DJ Console Mk2.
You can also update your DJ Console Mk2 by clicking Start/Programs/Hercules/DJ Console
Mk2/Update Service.
6.4. Using the DJ Console Mk2 Control Panel
The Control Panel allows you to manage your DJ Console Mk2’s various settings.
- Output Channels: There are 2 sets of sliders (1-2, 3-4), which function as master volume
controls for the corresponding outputs. You can alter the balance (left/right) using the balance
sliders on top of each output channel slider. The pictograms below each output channel slider
display whether the corresponding deck is in Computer or Input mode (a computer icon for
Computer mode, a turntable icon for Input mode). You can lock into a mode by clicking the lock
icon beside each pictogram: red means locked, and green means unlocked.
- Input Channels: To enable microphone recording or recording of your inputs, click the
microphone or line input icons at the bottom of this window. Please note that when recording
your microphone, you temporarily lose the use of Inputs 1/2. When you enable the Enable
Talk-Over option for your microphone, however, your voice is mixed via hardware and you can
still use Inputs 1/2 (please see section 6.10. Getting on the microphone
).
In 16-bit ASIO mode, you can record on channels 1/2 and 3/4, whereas in 24-bit ASIO mode,
you lose the ability to record input channels 3/4, with the corresponding pictogram grayed out.
