We recommend that you use unleaded petrol
because the muffler in the vehicle is fitted with
a catalytic convertor, it also produces lesser
deposits in engine and on spark plug, which
extends the life of exhaust system and other
components.

NOTE
If "Spark knock" or "pinking" occurs at a
steady engine speed under normal load,
change petrol brand. If the same still persists,
consult your Authorised Hero MotoCorp
workshop. Failure to do so is considered
misuse, and damage caused by misuse is not
covered under Hero MotoCorp warranty
policy.
(methyl or wood alcohol) that does not
contain cosolvents and corrosion inhibitors for
methanol.
If you decide to use a petrol containing alcohol
(gasohol), be sure its octane rating is at least
as high as that recommended by Hero
MotoCorp.
(b) Petrol containing alcohol

When certain type of petrol containing
alcohols are used, problems such as hard
starting, poor performance, etc. may occur.
•
If you notice any undesirable operating
symptoms while using the petrol that
contains alcohol, try another station or
switch to another brand of petrol.
Never use petrol containing more than 5%
methanol, even if it has cosolvents and
corrosion inhibitors.
Do not use petrol containing methanol
There are two types of "gasohol", one
containing ethanol, and the other containing
methanol.

When a problem resulting from the use of
petrol containing alcohol occurs, contact your
Authorised Hero MotoCorp workshop.

Ÿ After filling petrol, if the fuel filler cap is not
closed and remain open, and the ignition
switch is turned to “ON” position, a warning
buzzer will sound till either the fuel filler cap
is shut/closed, or the ignition switch is
turned “OFF” condition.
Ÿ Buzzer will also sound till the ignition switch
is turned “OFF” too, apart from shut/
closure of fuel filler cap
After refuelling, press the lid gently for locking
until a click sound is heard.
Lift the fuel filler cap by hand while refuelling.
Do not overfill the tank. There should be no
fuel (4) in the filler neck (3).
