PRE-RIDE INSPECTION
For your safety, it is very important to take a
few moments before each ride to walk
around your vehicle and check its condition.
If you detect any problem, be sure you take
care of it or have it corrected by your
Authorised Hero MotoCorp workshop.
Ÿ Park the vehicle on main stand on a
level surface in front of a wall.
Ÿ Loosen the bolt (1) and move the
headlamp up or down for correct focus.
Ÿ Engine oil level-Add engine oil if required
(page 54 ). Check for leaks.
Ÿ Front and Integrated brake-Check
operation and if necessary, adjust free play
(pages 17).
Ÿ Tyres-Check condition and pressure
(pages 21).
Ÿ Fuel level-Fill fuel tank when necessary
(page 19). Check for leaks.

Ÿ Always perform a pre-ride inspection before
every ride and correct if any problem.
Ÿ Improper maintenance or failing to correct a
problem before riding can cause a crash in
which you can be seriously injured.
WARNING
!!
An improperly adjusted headlamp may blind
oncoming driver or it may fail to light the road
for safe distance.
Ÿ Steering-Check for smooth action for easy
maneuverability.
Ÿ Throttle-Check for smooth opening and
full closing in all steering positions.
Ÿ Rear view mirrors-Ensure that the rear
view mirrors gives a good view of the rear
when you are sitting on the vehicle.
ANTI-THEFT TIPS
Ÿ Park your vehicle in a locked garage
whenever possible.
Ÿ Never park your vehicle in an isolated area.
Park as far as possible in a designated
parking area.
Ÿ Use an additional anti-theft device of good
quality.
Ÿ Fitting & fasteners-Check & tighten if
necessary.
Ÿ Be sure the registration information for your
vehicle is accurate and current.
Ÿ Side stand indicator-Make sure that the
side stand is up. If it is in down position the
side stand indicator (page 30) will glow on
the speedometer panel.
Ÿ Always lock the steering and never
leave the key in the ignition switch. This
sounds simple but people do forget.
Ÿ Air suction valve-Make sure all tube
connections are secured properly (page
66).
Ÿ Lamps and horn-Check that headlamp,
tail/stop lamp, turn signal lamps, indicators
and horn function properly.
