4.16 Siderails
Tools required: 5 mm hex wrench
Wire cutters
Removal
Prepare the Bed
1. Disconnect the battery cable from the control board (refer to procedure 4.7
on page 4-16).
2. Raise the bed to the highest position.
3. If you replace a headrail (A), raise the head section (B) to the highest
position (see figure 4-16 on page 4-38).
4. If you replace a footrail (C), do as follows:
a. Raise the head section (B) and the knee section (D) to their highest
positions.
b. Lift the foot section (E) of the sleep surface, and fold it back toward the
head section (B).
WARNING:
Attach the foot section to the head section. Failure to do so could cause
injury.
c. Use straps to attach the foot section (E) to the head section (B).
SHOCK HAZARD:
Disconnect the bed from its power source. Failure to do so could cause
injury or equipment damage.
5. Disconnect the bed from its power source.
Remove the Siderails
1. If the siderail is a footrail (C) or if the bed is a manual bed, do as follows:
a. Remove the two screws (F) and the slide bracket (G) that attaches the
siderail to the bed frame (H).
