PRE-OPERATION CHECKS
SAE 10W-30 is recommended for
general use.
<Inspection and Refilling> 1. Position the outboard motor
vertically, and remove the engine
cover.
2. Remove the oil level dipstick and
wipe with a clean rag.
3. Reinsert the dipstick all the way in,
and then pull it out and read the
level. If near or below the lower
level mark, remove the oil filler cap
and fill to the upper level mark
with the recommended oil. Tighten
the oil filler cap and install the
dipstick securely. Do not
overtighten.
When the engine oil is contaminated
or discolored, replace with the fresh
engine oil (see page 128 for
replacement interval and procedure).
