CAUTION:
To prevent improper cooling and thermal damage, do not operate the server unless all device bays are
populated with either a component or a blank.
Procedure
1. Release the cable management arm to access the rear panel ( Releasing the cable management arm
on page 35).
2. Remove the power supply.
WARNING:
To reduce the risk of personal injury from hot surfaces, allow the drives and the internal system
components to cool before touching them.
Removing and replacing a Smart Array controller
CAUTION:
Hewlett Packard Enterprise recommends performing a complete backup of all server data before
installing or removing a controller or adapter.
Procedure
1. Back up all server data.
2. Power down the server (Power down the server on page 33).
3. Remove all power:
a. Disconnect each power cord from the power source.
b. Disconnect each power cord from the server.
4. Do one of the following:
