REMOVALS/REPLACEMENTS
Cover
Removal
1.
Turn
the
system
power
off.
2.
On
early
level
machines,
remove
two
screws
in
the
back
of
the
mod-
ule.
On
later
level
machines,
release
the
two
quarter-turn
-
fasteners
0 .
3.
Slide
the
top
cover
to
the
rear.
4.
Remove
four
screws
holding
the
front
cover
•.
5.
Slide
the
front
cover
forward.

Head Load
Bail
Removal
CAUTION
When a
diskette
drive
is
removed
from
its
mounting,
verify
the
ground
through
the
AC
connector.
Check
for
0 ohms
between
the
diskette
unit
base
and
the
diskette
drive.
1.
Turn
the
system
power
off.
2.
Close
the
diskette
handle.
3.
Disconnect
the
bail
actuator
cable
from
the
bail
cable
stud
I).
4.
Open
the
handle.
WARNING:
Damage
to
the
head
can
occur
if
the
pressure
pad
arm
is
permitted
to
h
it
the
head.
5.
Observe
the
position
of
the
bail
return
spring
and
loosen
the
bail
screw.
and
pivot
the
bail
retainer
down

6.
Remove
the
bail,
bail
return
spring,
and
pivot
rod.
