Using the System
System Sounds
The AdvisorOne system uses sounds to communicate system activity, such as alarm
and trouble conditions.
When an intruder is detected or an emergency alarm is activated or carbon
monoxide or smoke issue is detected, a loud alarm is emitted from the AdvisorOne
panel’s internal siren (Figure 15) and also from optional Advisor TouchScreens and
optional external sirens. For more information, see Alarms.
The AdvisorOne panel uses status beeps to signal various system events and
conditions. These can include a change in monitored property or a trouble condition,
such as a low battery or power failure.
The AdvisorOne panel can speak to announce changes in system status or an alarm
condition. Also, if voice chime is enabled, the system speaks the name of a door that
is opened when the system is disarmed.
The chime feature is used to signal when a monitored door is opened while the
system is disarmed.
If enabled, the system initiates a two-way voice conversation when the Emergency
Alarm button is pressed. The central station will call the panel and attempt to speak
to the occupant who initiated the alarm. To respond to the central station, speak into
the microphone on the AdvisorOne panel.
