4.2.8 Output Inhibit Control
The IT-M3140 series power supply rear panel provides an output Inhibit inter-
face Inhibit±, which can disable the power output to prevent the power supply
from being operated incorrectly during the test and causing damage to the DUT.
• Off: Disables the Inhibit Port function.
• Living mode. When the external Inhibit± control terminals input is in the
False state, the output is controlled by the [On/Off] key on the front panel;
when the external Inhibit± control terminals input is in the True state, the out-
put is turned off, and the output [On/Off] key is invalid at this time .
– Nomal: When Inhibit+ and Inhibit– are short-circuited, the Inhibit± control
port input is in the True state, and if it is not short-circuited, it is in the
False state.
– Inverted: When Inhibit+ and Inhibit– are short-circuited, the Inhibit± con-
trol port input is in the False state, and if it is not short-circuited, it is in the
True state.
• Latch mode. When the external Inhibit± control terminals detects the level
change from False to True, the power output will be turned off. To release
the latched state, you must first set the external Inhibit± control port to the
False state, and send a command (OUTPut:PROTection:CLEar) to clear the
corresponding INH status bit.
– Nomal: When Inhibit+ and Inhibit– are short-circuited, the Inhibit± control
port input is in the True state, and if it is not short-circuited, it is in the
False state.
– Inverted: When Inhibit+ and Inhibit– are short-circuited, the Inhibit± con-
trol port input is in the False state, and if it is not short-circuited, it is in the
True state.
The figure below shows the short connection between the Inhibit± interfaces.
