31.0 AUGER MAINTENANCE
Every Jaylor mixer is fitted with vertical auger(s) equipped with knives for cutting material.
31.1 Knife Maintenance
To maintain knives, follow this procedure:
1. Clear the area of bystanders, especially small children.
2. Park mixer on a flat, level surface, unplug the motor, and wait for all moving parts to stop
before servicing, adjusting or repairing.
3. Install new knives and tighten mounting bolts to their specified torque.
Important: Ensure that the trailing knife sits on top of the leading knife.
Important: Ensure that no extra hardware and/or tools are left inside the drum after servicing.
4. Keep knives in good condition. Replace if chipped, dull, or damaged in any way.
5. Knife sharpening is not recommended. Each knife has a self-sharpening coating on one side
to keep the knife sharp.
