You can be injured if you use faulty lifting equipment. Make sure that lifting equipment is in good
condition. Make sure that lifting tackle complies with all local regulations and is suitable for the
job. Make sure that lifting equipment is rated for the job.
Figure 11 shows the positions of the main engine components you need to access regularly.
You must make sure that you can easily and safely do all maintenance activities, such as
checking and filling the fluids. You must give appropriate advice and warning to operators
and other persons.
The IPU has lifting eyes (seen in Figure 12) to lift the weight of the IPU only. You must use
an approved type of lifting equipment which can lift the IPU safely.
