When SWS application is
running, an error message
“system timed out” is
displayed.
Check all system modules and connections:
• Verify that the source optics module is scanning.
• Verify that the tunable laser source is scanning.
Check the ribbon connection at the back of the
receiver chassis. If it is plugged in properly:
• Unplug it.
Verify that none of the connector pins are
damaged.
• Reconnect the ribbon cable.
• Restart the SWS application.
If the problem persists:
• Verify that the SOM is scanning.
• Verify that the tunable laser source is scanning.
With a power meter, measure the maximum power
going into the receiver control module. The correct
power is >-11 dBm.
Disconnect the fiber from the Signal Cond. Out
port.
With a power meter, measure the maximum power
going into the receiver control module. The correct
power is >-11 dBm.
If the power is not >-11 dBm, connect the receiver
to another SOM output port.
Measure the maximum power going into the
receiver control module.
If the problem persists, call the local JDS Uniphase
representative or the service hotline.
