Table 13: Network Engine LEDs designation, normal status, description, and other conditions

Flashing
blue and
purple
1 blink per second = Normal operating status (all monitored
processes have started and the device is fully operational)
On, blue On solid, no blink = SNE is supplied with power but not operational
Medium
flicker, purple
and blue
2 blinks per second = SNE is starting up
Fast flicker,
purple and
blue
5 blinks per second = SNE is shutting down
HEARTBEAT Multicolor:
blue or
purple
Off No power applied
Off No faults; normal operationFAULT Red
On On steady = Diagnostics are running or fault conditions are
detected (for example, excessive memory or flash usage, or high
CPU temperature).
Flickering 1 blink per second = Data is transferring over the Ethernet
connection. Ethernet traffic is general traffic (may not be for the
network engine).
ETH ACTIVITY Green
Off No communication
On On steady, blue = Network is connected at 1000 Mbps
On steady, yellow = Network is connected at 100 Mbps
ETH LINK SPEED Blue or
yellow
Off No network connection or if ETH ACTIVITY light is flickering,
network is connected at 10 Mbps.
On On steady = Network engine is a site directorSITE DIRECTOR Green
Off Network engine is a child device
Flashing 1 blink per second = The SNE is transmitting BACnet messages
over BACnet/IP to other devices, including other engines.
Note: If you select the setting SC Only, the light flashes but
the messages use the BACnet/SC datalink, not BACnet/IP.
BACNET/IP Green
Off No communication with other BACnet/IP devices
On Solid red = An unsupported device is connected to USB-1
Note: Only approved USB adapters that have been tested
and qualified function with the SNE. Non-qualified adapters
do not function with the SNE. Refer to SNE/SNC Product Bul-
letin (LIT-12013296) for more information.
Flashing
Green
1 blink per second = A supported device is connected to the SNE
over USB-1 port.
USB-1 Green or Red
Off No device is connected or the USB port is disabled.
On Solid red = An unsupported device is connected to USB-2
Note: Only approved USB adapters that have been tested
and qualified function with the SNE. Non-qualified adapters
do not function with the SNE. Refer to SNE/SNC Product Bul-
letin (LIT-12013296) for more information.
Flashing
Green
1 blink per second = A supported device is connected to the SNE
over USB-2 port.
USB-2 Green or Red
Off No device is connected or the USB port is disabled.
Flashing 1 blink per second = data transmission with normal
communication over FC BUS-1
FC BUS-1 Green
On Network engines are defined on FC BUS-1, but none are
communicating. Only the SNE is transmitting.
