The brake is correctly adjusted when there is no play
in the cable.
1 Loosen the lock nuts (1).
2 Stretch the cable with the adjustment screw (2)
3 Tighten the lock nuts (1) after adjustment. When
the brake cable is adjusted, make sure there is no
play.
WARNING!
A poorly adjusted brake can
result in reduced braking ability.
6.9 Checking and adjusting the
clutch
1 The clutch is properly adjusted when the idler’s
outward motion is stopped by the belt and not by
the cable.
2 There should be about 8–10 mm/5/16"-3/8" of
play (A) between the cable nipple and the lever.
3 Adjust the clutch cable as follows:
Pull out the rubber sleeve (1). Loosen the nut (2)
and adjust the wire using the adjuster screw (3).
Tighten the lock nut (2) after adjustment.
