9.4 Heating, ventilation and air
conditioning
9.4.1 Air conditioner
Examine the operation of air conditioner
Perform the following procedures:
Examine that the connection between the compressor's mag‐
netic clutch plate and pulley does not slip. Clean if required.
Examine the condition of the cable between the thermostat and
the magnetic clutch.
Examine the fastening of the compressor.
Clean the fresh air and circulation air filter in the cab. Replace
if necessary.
Examine that the condensed water can exit the evaporator
without obstruction.
Visually check the hoses and components for leaks.
Examine that air can flow through the evaporator core without
obstruction.
Examine that air can flow through the condenser core without
obstruction.
Examine the amount of refrigerant in the system according to
the following instructions.

1 Start the engine and run the engine at maximum speed.
2 Switch the air conditioner to maximum blowing and maximum
cooling.
3 Switch the engine to idle, and examine the refrigerant flow in
the sight glass (A) on the dryer. The following table indicates
how the sight should be interpreted.
