Examine the radiator hoses
1 Examine all the radiator hoses for:
•
cracks
•
cuts
•
collapsing
2 Replace damaged hoses.
NOTE
The silicone engine coolant hose will exhibit swelling due to the elas‐
ticity of the hose.
Examine the radiator pressure cap
The cooling system is designed to use a pressure cap to prevent
the coolant from boiling. Refer to the OEM's cooling system specifi‐
cations for the correct radiator pressure cap.
An incorrect or malfunctioning cap may result in the loss of coolant
and the engine running hot.
1 Make sure that the correct radiator pressure cap is being
used.
2 Examine the rubber seal of the pressure cap for damage.
3 Examine the radiator fill neck for cracks or other damage.
4 Refer to the OEM service manual for instructions if the fill
neck is damaged.
5 Make the pressure-test to the radiator cap. Refer to the OEM
service manual for radiator cap test procedures.
6 The pressure cap must get sealed within 14 kPa [2 psi] of the
value specified on the cap, or it must be replaced.
