1 Clean and check the lubrication oil drain plug threads and the
sealing surface. Use a new sealing washer, if damaged.
2 Install the oil sump drain plug (60 Nm).
3 Fill the engine with clean lubrication oil to the proper level.
NOTE
See chapter Specifications for the oil requirements and total oil sys‐
tem capasity.
4 Start the engine and keep it on idle running to check for leaks
at the drain plug and the oil filter seal.
NOTE
Engine oil pressure must be shown on the gauge within 15 seconds
after starting. If not, turn OFF the engine immediately to avoid engine
damage. Make sure that the correct oil level is in the oil pan.
5 Turn OFF the engine. Wait approximately 5 minutes to let the
oil drain from the upper parts of the engine. Check the oil
level.
6 Add oil as necessary to fill the oil level to the H (high) mark on
the dipstick.
Replace the oil filter
1 Clean the area around the lubrication oil filter head.
2 Remove the filter with an oil filter wrench.
3 Clean the gasket surface of the filter head.
NOTE
The O-ring may be stuck on the filter head. Make sure it is removed
before installing the new filter.
