Programming Guide (SCPI)
SCPI command syntax
The following conventions are used for SCPI command syntax for remote interface programming.
– Square brackets ([]) indicate optional keywords or parameters
– Braces ({}) enclose parameter choices within a command string
– Angle brackets (<>) enclose parameters for which you must specify a value
– A vertical bar (|) separates multiple parameters
Commands relevant to J7211A/B/C
To set attenuation level
The commands below are used to set attenuation level of attenuation control unit.
[INPut]:ATTenuation <numeric>
The compatible remote command: ATTN <numeric>
[INPut]:ATTenuation?
To increase and decrease attenuation level
The following commands are used to increase or decrease attenuation value for attenuation control
unit.
[INPut]:[ATTenuation]:INCRease [<numeric>]
[INPut]:[ATTenuation]:DECRease [<numeric>]
If <numeric> is beyond the range specified, a return error value will clipped to minimum or
maximum attenuation value. You may encounter 2 error messages if value is not within range
specified.
Error Messages:
– + 12, “Value clipped to Max”
– + 11, “Value clipped to Min”
This command is to query current attenuation selected. This command confirms attenuation level
before begin measurement.
