Preparing a Static-Safe Workstation
Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage or destroy electronic components. All works performed
on assemblies consisting of electronic components should be done at a static-safe workstation.
An example of a static-safe workstation is shown below using two types of ESD protection:
– conductive table mat and wrist strap combination, and
– conductive floor mat and heel strap combination
The methods may be used together or separately. A list of static-safe accessories and their part
numbers is given in table below.
