Service Guide
3 Adjustment
This chapter provides the adjustment information for the E4980A/ E4980AL to
ensure that it is within its specifications. The adjustment must be performed by
Keysight’s qualified service personnel. If you need the adjustment for your
E4980A/ E4980AL, it should be sent to the nearest Keysight Technologies
service office.
Safety Considerations
This manual contains NOTEs, CAUTIONs, and WARNINGs that must be
followed to ensure the safety of the operator and to keep the instrument in a
safe and serviceable condition. The adjustment must be performed by
Keysight’s qualified service personnel.
Warm-up for Adjustment
Warm-up the E4980A/ E4980AL for at least 30 minute before performing any
of the following Adjustment procedures to ensure proper results and correct
instrument operation.
Required Equipment
Table 1-1 on page 20 lists the equipment required to perform the Adjustment
procedures described in this chapter. Use only calibrated test equipment when
adjusting the E4980A/ E4980AL.
Any interruption of the protective ground conductor (inside or outside the
equipment) or disconnection of the protective ground terminal can make
the instrument dangerous. Intentional interruption of the protective
ground system for any reason is prohibited.
