Measuring fan speed
a Tools for measuring fan speed
a Measure the fan speed under the following con-
dition.
• Hydraulic oil temperature: 45 – 55°C
1. Open the inspection cover of the engine hood.
2. Stick a reflection tape (a) to the fan (1).
3. Set probe [1] of multitachometer R with stand
[2], match it to the reflection tape, and connect it
to meter [3].
a Take care that the probe will not interfere
with the fan.
4. Close the cover of the engine hood.
a Do not start the engine without closing the
cover.
5. Run the engine and set to fan 100% speed
mode, and measure the fan speed at high idle.
a
If the fan is rotated in reverse, the measuring
instruments can be sucked in. Accordingly, be
sure to rotate the fan forward when measuring.
6. After finishing measurement, remove the meas-
uring instruments and return the removed parts.
Measuring fan circuit oil pressure
a Tools for measuring fan circuit oil pressure
a Measure the fan circuit oil pressure under the
following condition.
• Hydraulic oil temperature: 45 – 55°C
k Lower the work equipment to the ground and
stop the engine. Operate the control levers sev-
eral times to release the residual pressure in the
piping, and then loosen the oil filler cap of the
hydraulic tank slowly to release the internal
pressure of the hydraulic tank.
1. Connect gauge [1] of hydraulic tester S to oil
pressure pickup nipple (1) of the fan pump.
a Use the gauge of 40 MPa {400 kg/cm
2
}.
2. While running the engine at high idle, measure
the fan circuit oil pressure.
3. After finishing measurement, remove the meas-
uring instruments and return the removed parts.
