PriortodeploymentoftheTransponder,itisimportantthatthefollowingchecksare
madetoensurecorrectoperation.
Procedure
1Makesuretheretainingcordisinplace.
2Iftheunithasbeenalteredfromthefactorypre-sets,checkthattheunitis
conguredaccordingtoyourrequirements.
3Makesurethebatteryisfullycharged.
4Pushthepressurereliefvalveintoconrmthatitisushwiththeendcap.
5SwitchtheTransponderONbyinsertingtheOn/offplug.
6PerformanacoustictestusingaTransponderTestandConguration(TTC)unit:
aInterrogatetheTransponder.
bReadbatterystatusandconrmthatitwilllastfortheupcomingoperation.
cReadthepowersettingandconrmitiscorrectfortheupcomingoperation.
Deployment
WhenyouttheTransponderontoavehicle/structure,theunitmustbepositionedwith
thetransduceruprightandtheremustbeaclearlineofsightbetweenthetransduceron
theTransponderandthevessel’stransducer.Useahoseclampwithrubberprotectionto
securetheTransponder.
TheTranspondershouldbefullychargedbeforedeployment.
Recoverychecks
Itisimportanttoperformtheserecoverychecksaftereveryoperation.
Procedure
1Washtheunitthoroughlyinwarmfreshwatertodissolveanysaltdepositsand
cleanoffanysandorsilt.
2Asanextraprecaution,itisrecommendedthattheunitislefttosoakinfreshwater
toallowsalttodissolveanddiffusefromhard-to-reachareas,suchascrevices
betweenmatingparts.
Leavetheunittosoakfor24hours,oraslongaspracticalconditionsallow.
