Feature Option Description
Out-of-Band Mgmt
Port
[COM1], [COM2] Select a COM port for Out-of-Band Management Port. Microsoft
Windows Emergency Management Services (EMS) allows
remote management of a Windows Server OS through a serial
port.
Terminal Type [VT100], [VT100+],
[VT-UTF8], [ANSI]
Determine the terminal type. VT-UTF8 is the preferred terminal
type for out-of-band management. The next best choice is
VT100+ and then VT100.
Bits per second [9600], [19200],
[57600], [115200]
Select serial port transmission speed. The speed must be
matched on the other side. Long or noisy lines may require
lower speeds.
Flow Control [None], [Hardware
RTS/CTS], [Software
Xon/Xoff]
Flow control can prevent data loss from buffer overflow. When
sending data, if the receiving buffers are full, a 'stop' signal can
be sent to stop the data flow. You may select “None”, “Hardware
RTS/CTS” or "Software Xon/Xoff" depending on the
circumstances.
