Scale Timing
is command is available in the contextual menu for the Timing Lane. It allows you to edit all of the Timing Lane Step
Durations at once, to make the sequence longer or shorter. If you want to change this in real-time, use the Timing Lane
Speed parameter instead.
Timing Lane Step
Type
[Note, Rest, Gate]
Note: e step will play normally.
Rest: e step will be silent.
Gate: e sequence will pause at the step until note-o, aer which the sequence continues. If this is also the End Step,
the Wave Sequence will stay on the step through note-o. By setting a single Timing Step to Gate, and then modulating
the Sample Lane Start Step by velocity, you can create a sound with up to 64 velocity switches. For instance, you can use
this to switch between a large number of dierent attack transients.
Duration
[Tempo O: 0.0000…10.0000 seconds]
[Tempo On: List of rhythmic values]
If Temp o is O, you can set the length of the step in seconds.
If Temp o is On, you can set the basic length of the step as a rhythmic value, relative to the system tempo. e values
range from a 32nd note to a double breve (four whole notes), including dotted notes and triplets. is length is then
modied by x (Multiply Base Note by…), below.
x (Multiply Base Note by…)
[1…32]
is appears only if Tempo is On. It multiplies the length of the Duration Base Note. For instance, if the Base Note is
set to an eighth note, and Times is set to 3, the step will last for a dotted quarter-note.
Probability
See Step Probability” on page 31.
Xfade (Crossfade) general notes
e Xfade (crossfade) determines the time it takes to fade into the next step. For example, Step 1’s Crossfade determines
the time to fade between Step 1 and Step 2. In general, the Xfade time cannot exceed twice the duration of the shorter of
the two steps. e Fade-In and Out parameters, below, allow linear, equal-power, and custom crossfades.
Crossfades times can be set in either seconds or rhythmic values, depending on whether Timing Lane Xfade is set
to Time or Tempo. If Timing Lane Xfade is set to O, all transitions will be abrupt and none of the Xfade-related
parameters will appear.
