(Multisample)
[List of Multisamples]
is selects the Multisample for the Step. Use the < and > arrows to step through Multisamples one by one, or click on
the name to bring up a browser window. As with the other browsers in wavestate native, you can keep the browser open
while listening to the results. Try using this in conjunction with Solo Step (see “Solo Step” on page 39).
Octave
[-2…+2]
is transposes the Multisample up or down by up to two octaves.
Transpose
[-12…+12]
is transposes the Multisample up or down by up to 12 semitones. Use this (and other pitch-related parameters on
this page) instead of the Pitch Lane when you want the transposition to be tied to a specic Multisample.
Tune
[-99…+99]
is tunes the Multisample up or down by up to 99 cents (1/100 of a semitone).
Trim
[-Inf, -84.9…0.0 dB]
is adjusts the volume of the Multisample.
Start Oset
[O, 1st…8th]
In addition to simply starting playback from the beginning, Multisamples may have up to 8 dierent pre-programmed
alternate starting points, or “Start Osets.” ese skip part of the beginning of the samples, either to make them more
gentle (for percussive sounds) or to make them start more quickly (for sounds with slow attacks). e number of
available osets will vary depending on the specic Multisample.
If no alternate start points are available, this will show n/a.
Probability
See “Step Probability” on page 31.
Fixed Pitch
[Original, O, On, On+Pitch Lane]
By default, most Multisamples change in pitch as you play up and down the keyboard. A few, however, use “Fixed Pitch”
so that they make the same sound all the way across the keyboard—such as for drums or special eects. is parameter
allows you to enable Fixed Pitch for Multisamples which normally transpose, or disable Fixed Pitch for those which
normally do not transpose.
Use this for creative purposes, but be aware that Multisamples may behave strangely if this is set to anything
other than Original.
Original: is is the default. Fixed Pitch will be on or o according to the Multisample’s programmed value.
O: e Multisample will transpose. Multisamples originally programmed to use Fixed Pitch may reach their
transposition limit at some point on the keyboard, and not get any higher in pitch.
On: e Multisample will use Fixed Pitch even if it is not programmed to do so. Note: in some cases, you may hear the
individual samples in the Multisample, each at their original pitch. Also, the Pitch Lane will not aect this Step.
On+Pitch Lane: Similar to On, except that the Pitch Lane will aect the Step.
