5 Installation at Site
5.1 Safety regulations
DANGER
Excessive temperatures in the shaft seal area
Explosion hazard!
▷ Never operate a pump (set) with gland packing in potentially explosive
atmospheres.
5.2 Checks to be carried out prior to installation
Check the structural requirements.
The structural work required must have been prepared in accordance with the
dimensions stated in the outline drawing and/or general arrangement drawing.
5.3 Installing the pump set

Static charging due to insufficient potential equalisation
Explosion hazard!
▷ Make sure that the connection between pump and baseplate is electrically
conductive.
The foundation for the pump is a dome with horizontal flange and corresponding
flange connection.
Check the flange with a spirit level and adjust if required.
Permitted deviation 0.2mm/m.
Mounting the drive
After mounting and bolting, the drive is centred in the flange of the drive lantern.
Checking the coupling
After mounting the drive on the pump, check the clearance between the two
coupling halves on the basis of the general arrangement drawing.
If the clearance is too large, reduce the distance between the coupling halves.
Check the radial alignment.
