WARNING
The volute casing, pipe assembly, flanged bend and areas of the soleplate take on
the temperature of the fluid handled
Risk of burns!
▷ Insulate the soleplate and flanged bend.
▷ Fit protective equipment.
CAUTION
Heat build-up in the bearing bracket
Damage to the bearing!
▷ The bearing bracket lantern and drive lantern must not be insulated.
5.6 Aligning the pump and motor
WARNING
Unprotected rotating coupling
Risk of injury by rotating shafts!
▷ Always operate the pump set with a contact guard (coupling guard).
5.7 Electrical connection
DANGER
Electrical connection work by unqualified personnel
Risk of fatal injury due to electric shock!
▷ Always have the electrical connections installed by a trained and qualified
electrician.
▷ Observe regulations IEC 60364 and, for explosion-proof models, EN60079.
WARNING
Incorrect connection to the mains
Damage to the mains network, short circuit!
▷ Observe the technical specifications of the local energy supply companies.
1. Check the available mains voltage against the data on the motor name plate.
2. Select an appropriate starting method.
NOTE
A motor protection device is recommended.
5.7.1 Setting the time relay
CAUTION
Switchover between star and delta on three-phase motors with star-delta starting
takes too long.
Damage to the pump (set)!
▷ Keep switch-over intervals between star and delta as short as possible.
