General Parameters
Thereareanumberofparametersthatarecommontoalloralmostallalgorithms,andwe’lldeal
withthosefirst.
Wet/Drybalancesthelevelsoftheprocessedandunprocessedsignalspassingthroughthe
preset.Therangeis0%wet(thesignalisunprocessed)through100%wet(nodrysignalis
present).Asettingof50%wetmeansthedryandprocessedsignalsareroughlyequalinlevel.In
somealgorithms,separateWet/DryparametersareprovidedfortheLeftandRightinput
channels.Insomecases,thisparameterscanhavenegativevalues,whichindicatethattheWet
signalispolarityinverted.

Gainsetsthegainattheoutputofapreset.
In/Outenablesordisablestheeffect.YoucanthinkofitasaWet/Dryparameterwithonlytwo
positions:100%(In)and0%(Out).
HFDampingisthecutoff(3dB)frequency ofa6dB/octavelowpassfilterthat’sinsertedbefore
the
processor.Inthecaseofprocessorswheremultipleiterationsofthesignalareheard,suchas
inadelay,eachiterationofthesignalwillpassthroughthefilter,andwillthereforebe duller.
XCouple(CrossCouple).Instereoeffects,thiscontrolshowmuchofanysignalbeingfedback
is
goingtothechanneloppositetotheonewhereitfirstappeared.At100%,allfeedbackfrom
signalsattheleftinputgoestotherightchannelandviceversa,causinga“spreading”orinthe
caseofdelaylines,a“pingpong”effect.At0%,fedbacksignalsstay
withthechannelthey
cameinon.
