The [8XT_MO_100] preset features specific equalization to account for half-space loading conditions (floor monitoring
applications, and wall or ceiling-mounted enclosures) and includes a 100 Hz high-pass filter.
From the LA4 amplified controller front panel, activate the LOAD PRESET menu and then select the desired preset.
Refer to the ‘‘LA4’’ user manual for additional instructions. The presets are also accessible using the LA NETWORK
MANAGER software (refer to the ‘‘LA NETWORK MANAGER’’ user manual). Accessible controls in the ‘‘HIGH
PASS’’ mode presets are shown in the following chart:

7.4 “LF EXTENSION’’ mode
In the ‘‘LF EXTENSION’’ mode the 8XT enclosures are coupled in hybrid configurations with the dedicated
complimentary SB118 subwoofers.
7.4.1 Connecting to the LA4
The SB118 and 8XT enclosures are connected to an LA4 outputs as follows: channels 1 and 3 are dedicated to one
SB118 each, and channels 2 and 4 are dedicated to one 8XT each. Each 8XT enclosure can be paired in parallel with an
additional 8XT. Therefore, a single LA4 amplified controller can drive up to two SB118 and four 8XT enclosures
(Figure 6).
Connect only one SB118 enclosure on each output channel 1 and 3 of the LA4 controller.
Driving two SB118 and four 8XT enclosures with a single LA4 amplified controller solicits system
resources to their limits and can trigger the thermal protection feature of the controller. This
configuration has to be avoided when the power requirements are extreme and continuous over a
long period.
Additional enclosures beyond two SB118 and four 8XT need to be connected to an additional LA4 amplified controller
following the same wiring procedures. Therefore, each group of 6 additional enclosures requires the addition of a new
LA4 amplified controller.
Note: System resources are optimized for two SB118 and two or four 8XT enclosures.
