Question: I went to the Audio Downloads page but cannot fi nd the audio for the new
book I purchased.
Answer: The Audio Downloads site is specifi c to a country or region. Are your
settings set to a country other than where you purchased the book? Open
the Settings window and within the General tab select the country where
you purchased the book. Once this is done, click the Audio Downloads
button again, and notice the country displayed in the header of the page. You
should now be able to fi nd the audio for the book or game you purchased.
Question: Do I have to pay to download audio fi les?
Answer: No, but you will need to buy the corresponding TAG™ book or game at
your local retailer or leapfrog.com before your child will be able to use the
audio on his/her TAG Reader.
Question: When I go to the Audio Downloads page, a message states “You need an
Internet connection to use this page. Please check your Internet connectivity.”
Answer: The Audio Downloads page is a web page within the LEAPFROG® Connect
Application. You will need an Internet connection to access it. If you are
connected to the Internet and still getting this message, click the Home
button to log out of your child’s TAG player profi le and then select the
player profi le from the Home page again.
Question: When I go to the Audio Downloads page, a message states “Unable to
access this website. Please try again later.”
Answer: The Audio Downloads page is a web page within the LEAPFROG Connect
Application. Either your Internet connection is too slow and it timed out
while trying to access the page, or the LEAPFROG server is temporarily
down and will be restored shortly.
Question: When I go to the Audio Downloads page, a message states “We’re sorry.
This site is temporarily down for a scheduled update. Please try back later.”
Answer: The Audio Downloads page is a web page within the LEAPFROG Connect
Application. Occasionally the website needs to be updated. During the
update, the website will be inaccessible.
Question: I am trying to download the audio for a book but it takes so long that it
keeps timing out.
Answer: We recommend an Internet connection speed of 56 kbps or higher.
Question: The country displayed in the Audio Downloads page is not my country.
Answer: To change your country setting, click the Settings button and then click
the General tab. You should choose the country where you purchased your
TAG book to download the correct audio fi le for that book.
Note: Ireland users share the same setting as the United Kingdom.
ON MY TAG PAGE / SYNCING
Question: Syncing takes a long time. Can I stop the sync or disconnect the TAG
Reader during the sync?
Answer: No. Disconnecting the TAG Reader during a sync can corrupt the device.
Please wait until the sync fi nishes. If you do disconnect the TAG Reader
during a sync, the next time you connect the TAG Reader, the LEAPFROG
Connect Application will recognize if it needs to be repaired and prompt
you to repair it.
Question: I don’t see the audio for the books I purchased listed on the On My TAG page.
Answer: To gain access to the audio fi les to add to your child’s TAG Reader, you
need to download the titles from the Audio Downloads page. Click the
Audio Downloads tab to open the page, and download the desired audio
fi les. After you have downloaded the audio fi les you need, they will
automatically appear in the Library box on the On My TAG page.
Question: I want to add another audio fi le to my child’s TAG Reader but I get a
message saying that the device is full.
Answer: There is a storage limit of approximately fi ve audio fi les on a TAG Reader at
one time. You will have to remove one audio fi le before you can add another.
Question: The memory gauge shows that there is 3 MB of space left on my child’s
TAG Reader, however, when I try to add a fi le that is only 2.5 MB, I get a
message saying that there is not enough available space to add the fi le.
Answer: The size displayed for each title is approximate and does not always
account for all components that need to be saved along with the audio fi le.
Question: The TAG Reader played a sound to alert me to something. I think that it
was syncing, but the audio fi le never was added to the TAG Reader.
Answer: The TAG Reader has two different sound effects: one when it powers on
and off, and the other after 60 seconds of inactivity. The inactivity sound
does not mean the TAG Reader is saving fi les to your TAG. In order to save
fi les to your TAG, you will need to go to the On My TAG page and follow
the instructions.
Question: I see two titles in my Library and one says “American English” while the
other says “Queen’s English.” Which should I use?
Answer: If you changed your country setting and downloaded the same audio fi le
title before and after the change, you might see two identical copies of the
title in the Library box with the notations “American English” and “Queen’s
English” shown next to them. Choose just one of these fi les to add to your
TAG Reader. If you purchased the book in the U.S. or Canada, choose
the American English version. For a U.K. or Ireland purchase, choose the
Queen’s English version. The Australia and New Zealand offerings are
mixed. If after saving the audio fi le to your TAG Reader and trying to tap
in the book, you still cannot use the book, remove that audio fi le and try
syncing the other English version.
