Question: Do I need to connect the TAG™ Reader every time it says “You earned
a reward”?
Answer: No, but you should try and connect your child’s TAG Reader as often as
you can. At the very least you should connect it once a week. If you go too
long without connecting you could lose some of your child’s play data and
the rewards he/she earned.
PLAYER PROFILES
Question: I would like to edit the name of a TAG player profi le. How do I do that?
Answer: Select the TAG player profi le that you want to change. Click the Settings
button in the top right corner of the LEAPFROG® Connect Application
window to open the Settings window. Click the TAG tab, enter a new TAG
player profi le name, and click the Apply button. Note that the TAG Reader
does not need to be connected to make this change. The next time you see
the Home page, you will need to select the new player profi le.
LOGGING OUT
Question: When I try to log out by clicking the Home button it says I must wait until
the sync completes.
Answer: You must wait for a sync to complete before logging out of a given TAG
player profi le and into any other player profi le. The Message Center will
tell you when the sync has fi nished, at which point you can switch to a
different player profi le.
Question: Can I log out by clicking the Home button, or go to another player profi le,
when I am still downloading audio fi les from the Audio Downloads site to
my child’s TAG player profi le?
Answer: Yes, downloading will continue regardless of which player profi le you are
signed in to. However, it is best to wait for downloading to complete before
you exit the LEAPFROG Connect Application entirely.
EJECT / DISCONNECT
Question: How do I disconnect the TAG Reader from the LEAPFROG
Connect Application?
Answer: At the top of the LEAPFROG Connect Application window you will see a
thumbnail view of the TAG Reader. To the right of that image is the Eject
button. Click that button to eject the TAG Reader from the LEAPFROG
Connect Application. You can then physically disconnect the TAG Reader
by unplugging it from the USB cable. You can also eject your TAG Reader
from the Home page.
Question: When is it safe to physically disconnect the TAG Reader?
Answer: You can safely disconnect your TAG Reader at any time other than when
the Eject button is crossed out in red.
REPAIR AND RESET
Question: After connecting my TAG Reader, it says it cannot be repaired. What does
that mean?
Answer: A TAG Reader can become corrupted if it is disconnected during a sync.
In most cases, the problem will be detected when you connect the TAG
Reader and it can be fi xed. However, sometimes it is irreparable. If you get
this message, try going to Settings and within the TAG tab, click Reset.
Question: What is the difference between Reset in the Settings window and the Reset
Memory card?
Answer: The reset button accessible through Settings will restore your child’s TAG
Reader should it need to be repaired. It will also remove all audio fi les from
the device such that you will need to go to the On My TAG page to add
desired audio fi les back onto the device. The Reset Memory card (a physical
card available only through customer service) will delete all personalized
memory on the TAG Reader and play data such as names your child entered
while playing games and records of rewards he/she earned.
