EMERGENCY
UGHTING
SYSTEM (IF INSTALLED)
Air-

&

The
emergency lighting system consists of two batteries,
an
emergency exit
light, a door light, upper center panel lights, and two system switches.
The
system provides cabin lighting in
the
event of a failure of
the
normal electri-
cal system
and
lighting for passenger egress through the emergency exit
or
cabin door. Switch function is
as
follows:
EMER LT TEST-ADM-DISARM SWITCH
The
EMER
LT
TEST-ARM-DISARM switch (pedestal) provides the test func-
tion for the system and for automatic illumination of the emergency lights
in
the
event of
an
interruption of normal electrical power. For operation of
the emergency lighting system,
at
least
one
aircraft battery switch must be
in the
On
position prior
to
activating any of the
EMER
LT
TEST- ARM-DIS-
ARM
switch functions. Setting
the
switch
to
TEST simulates a power failure
of the normal electrical system
and
illuminates
the
emergency exit light,
door light, and
upper
center panel lights. Setting
the
switch
to
ARM
will
arm
the system
to
illuminate the emergency lights in
the
event of a power failure
of the normal electrical system. Setting the switch
to
DISARM
isolates
the
emergency lights from the emergency power supply.
The
switch should be set to
ARM
prior
to
takeoff. If
the
switch
is
in
the
DIS-
ARM
position
and
the
BATTERY
switches are
ON
an
amber light adjacent
to the switch
will
illuminate
to
indicate the switch should be set to ARM.
For normal operations, after landing, the switch must
be set
to
DISARM
pri-
or to setting battery switches
OFF.
EMER LT5-NORM SWITCH
The
EMER
LTS-NORM switch (LH service cabinet) provides for manual il-
lumination of
the
emergency lights. When the switch
is
set to
EMER
LTS,
the emergency exit, cabin door,
and
upper
center panel lights
will
illumi-
nate. For normal operation,
the
switch should be set
to
NORM. Setting
the
switch to NORM does not hinder automatic illumination in the event of a
power interruption of the normal electrical system.
