FAA APPROVED 4-30-76 2-9
REISSUED 2-25-81, CHANGE 11
BEFORE STARTING ENGINES (CONT)
f. PITCH TRIM Switch — PRI.
g. JET PUMP Switches — ON.
h. EMER PRESS Switches (if installed) — NORMAL except for
takeoff above 8500 feet pressure altitude.
Aircraft with emergency pressurization override
switches installed. For takeoff at field elevations above
8500 feet pressure altitude, refer to PRESSURIZA-
TION SYSTEM OPERATION, this section.
9. Battery Check:
Setting battery switches On also energizes the wind-
shield ice detect lights. Check Turbine Temperature
(ITT), Fan Speed (N
1), and Turbine Speed (N2) to ensure
red OFF flags are retracted.
a. BAT 1 Switch — Set to BAT 1. Check for proper voltage.
Amber EMER PWR light(s) will go out.
b. BAT 2 Switch — Set to BAT 2.
c. BAT 1 Switch — OFF. Check for proper voltage, then BAT 1
Switch set to BAT 1.
For thru flight, both BAT Switches — On.
• On aircraft with Lead-Acid Batteries, do not at-
tempt a battery start with less than 24 VDC each bat-
tery at 70°F (21°C) or below, or less than 25 VDC
each battery at 110°F (43°C) or above. Interpolate
for temperatures between 70°F (21°C) and 110°F
(43°C).
• On aircraft with Nickel-Cadmium Batteries, do not
attempt a battery start with less than 23 VDC each
battery.
10. GPU (if desired) — Connect.
Ensure unit is regulated to 28 VDC and limited to 1100
amps maximum.
11. Inverter System — Check:
a. PRI INVERTER Switch — PRI. SEC and AUX INVERTER (if
installed) Switches — OFF. Check PRI INV light out and AC
VOLTS reading is within green arc.
b. AC BUS Switch — PRI then SEC. Check AC VOLTS reading
is within green arc in both positions.
c. SEC INVERTER Switch — SEC. Check SEC INV light out.
d. PRI INVERTER Switch — OFF. Check AC VOLTS reading is
within green arc.
