3 TRANSPORT
The SPLENDIMO PC can be transported behind the tractor.
- Lift the complete mower conditioner by means of the lift
ram (fig. 5) and both wheel rams (fig. 6)
- Position the drawbar towards the centre and prevent
hydraulic operation by closing the shutoff valve (fig. 4)
- Block the hydraulic action of all other cylinders by closing
the relevant shutoff valves (fig. 5 and 6)
Stop the tractor engine. Disengage the PTO shaft from the
tractor PTO and place it in the catch hook (fig. 3).
- Remove the safety shield from the RH side of the machine
and place it at the front of the main chassis (fig. 7).
- Remove the safety screen from the LH side of the machine
and fixate it to the drawbar.
- Turn the RH disc in such a way that it is at right angles with
the cutter bar (fig. 7) and make sure that the blade on the
LH disc is turned inwards (please refer to 3 m transport
decal).
Use all such lighting and warning signals as are man-
datory by law (or other regulations prescribed by the
authorities).
The machine is now ready for transport.
4 MACHINE ADJUSTMENTS
4.1 Adjusting from the transport to the working
position
- Lower the machine by retracting the wheel adjustment
rams.
- Ensure the horizontal position of the drawbar by means of
the tractor hydraulics. Take tractor wheeling into account.
Limit a downward movement with, for instance, a stabili-
sation chain (optional extra) if it is impossible to keep the
hydraulics at the pre-set height.
- Fit the two safety shields to the sides of the machine
(fig. 8).
- Atach the PTO shaft to the tractor PTO.
- Fit the safety chain of the protection tube to a solid part of
the tractor.
