Youcanconnecttoyournetworkorabroadbandconnection,suchasDSLorCATV,byuseoftheEthernet
featurebuiltintoyourcomputer.Thisfeatureenablesyoutodo1Gbpshalforfullduplexdatatransmission.
ToconnecttoanetworkthroughEthernet,youcanuseAccessConnections.

canconnectdevicesashortdistancefromoneanother,andiscommonlyusedforconnectingperipheral
devicestoacomputer,transferringdatabetweenhand-helddevicesandapersonalcomputer,orremotely
controllingandcommunicatingwithdevicessuchasmobilephones.
MakingwirelessLANconnections
Yourcomputercomeswithabuilt-inwirelessnetworkcardandacongurationutilitytohelpyoumake
wirelessconnectionsandmonitorthestatusofyourconnection,sothatyoucanstayconnectedtoyour
networkwhileyouareintheofce,inameetingroom,orathome,withnoneedforawiredconnection.

•IfyoucarryyourcomputerwiththewirelessLANfeatureintoanairplane,checktheserviceswiththe
airlinebeforeboardingtheairplane.
•Iftherearerestrictionsontheuseofcomputersonanairplanewiththewirelessfeature,youneedto
