Thistopicalsoprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstalldevicedriversfortheoperatingsystem.
InstallingaMicrosoftWindows8orWindows8.1operatingsystem
ToinstallaMicrosoftWindows8orWindows8.1operatingsystem,dothefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.Then,starttheserverfromtheopticaldrive.
2.IfthemessagePressanykeytobootfromcdisdisplayed,pressanykey.IfthemessageWindowsSetup
[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.Waitseveralminutesforthesystemtoloadthefiles.
3.WhentheWindows8installationwindowisdisplayed,configurethelanguageandotheroptionsas
youneedandthenclickNext.
4.ClickInstallnow.
5.Whenthe“EntertheproductkeytoactivateWindows”windowisdisplayed,typeyourproductkeyand
thenclickNext.TheproductkeyinformationisavailableontheMicrosoftCertificateofAuthenticity
labelorproductpackaging.
6.ReadthelicensetermsandselectIacceptthelicenseterms.Then,clickNext.
7.Selectthetypeofinstallationasyouneed.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatCustom:
InstallWindowsonly(Advanced)isselectedinthisstep.
Note:IfyoudonotneedtoconfigureRAIDonyourserver,gotostep9.
8.IfyouwanttoinstallthedriverfortheonboardSATAsoftwareRAIDorinstalledRAIDcard,dothe
following:
a.Inthe“WheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?”window,clickLoaddriver.
b.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontainsthedrivertoyourserver,andthenbrowsetothe
folderwherethedriverisstored.
c.ClickOK.The“Selectthedrivertoinstall”windowsisdisplayed.
d.SelectHidedriversthataren’tcompatiblewiththiscomputer’shardware,andthenselectthe
driverthatyouwanttoinstallonyourserver.ClickNext.
9.Inthe“WheredoyouwanttoinstallWindows?”window,clickDriveoptions(advanced).
10.Selecttheharddiskdriveonwhichyouwanttoinstalltheoperatingsystem,andthenclickNew.
11.Typetheamountofspace(inMB),andthenclickApply.
12.WhentheWindowsSetupdialogboxisdisplayed,clickOK.
13.Ensurethatthedrivepartitioniscorrect,andthenclickNext.Theinstallationbegins.
Note:Y ourserverwillrestartseveraltimesduringtheinstallation.
14.InthePersonalizewindow,personalizeyourserverasyouneedandclickNext.
15.WhentheSettingswindowisdisplayed,configurethesettingsasyouneed.
