ThistopicprovidesinstructionsonhowtoinstalltheMicrosoftWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011
EssentialsAuroraandthedevicedrivers.
Note:Beforeinstallingthisoperatingsystem,connectyourservertothenetwork.
ToinstalltheMicrosoftWindowsSmallBusinessServer2011EssentialsAurora,dothefollowing:
1.Inserttheoperatingsysteminstallationdiscintotheopticaldrivethatyouhavesetasthefirststartup
device.ConnecttheUSBstoragedevicethatcontainsthedriverfortheonboardSATAsoftwareRAID
(orinstalledRAIDcardifyourserverisinstalledwithaRAIDcard)toyourserver.Then,starttheserver
fromtheopticaldrive.
2.IfthemessagePressanykeytobootfromcdisdisplayed,pressanykey.IfthemessageWindowsSetup
[EMSEnabled]isdisplayed,pressEnter.Waitseveralminutesforthesystemtoloadthefiles.
3.IntheInstallingWindowswindow,selectNewInstallation.
Note:Ifyourserverhasanoperatingsysteminstalled,therewillbeanotheroptionRepairanExisting
Installation.ThefollowingstepsarebasedonthescenariothatNewInstallationisselectedinthisstep.
4.ClickLoaddriversandbrowsetothefolderwherethedriverisstored.ClickOKtoloadthedriver.
5.SelectIunderstandthatifIclickInstall,allfilesandfoldersonyourprimaryharddrivewillbe
deleted.Then,clickInstalltostarttheoperatingsysteminstallation.TheInstallWindowswindowis
displayed.Waitforamoment.
Note:Diskpartitioncannotbeperformed.Ifthediskcapacityis2T,allthe2Tcapacityisusedfor
installingtheoperatingsystem.
6.Ifthe“Errorsoccurredduringinstallation”windowisdisplayed,connecttheUSBstoragedevicethat
containsthedriverfortheEthernetcardtoyourserver.
7.PressShift+F10,inputthecommanddevmgmt.msc,andthenpressEnter.TheDeviceManagerwindow
isdisplayed.
8.Clickotherdevices,right-clickEthernetController,andthenclickUpdateDriverSoftware➙Browse
mycomputerfordriversoftware.
9.BrowsetothefolderwherethedriverisstoredandclickOK.Then,clickNexttoloadthedriver.
10.Afterthedriverisloaded,clickClose.Gobacktothecommandwindowandcloseit.
11.Inthe“Errorsoccurredduringinstallation”window,clickRestarttorestartyourserver.
12.Whenthe“WindowsSmallBusinessServer2011”windowisdisplayed,configurethelanguageand
otheroptionsasyouneed,andthenclickNext.
13.Inthe“Verifythedateandtimesettings”window,configurethedateandtime.Then,clickNext.
