Step 1. Align the mounting stud on the system board with the corresponding hole in the rear hot-swap
drive assembly. Meanwhile, align the rear of the rear hot-swap drive assembly with the
corresponding rail guides in the rear of the chassis. Then, carefully press the rear hot-swap drive
assembly straight down into the chassis until it is fully seated.

Step 2. Connect the signal cable to the rear hot-swap drive assembly and the RAID adapter. See “Internal
cable routing” on page 35.
After installing the rear hot-swap drive assembly, you can install hot-swap drives to the assembly. See
“Install a hot-swap drive” on page 190.
