type. Turn the Soft knob clockwise or counterclockwise to cause the letter S to
appear.
Time Code Operation
The first entry must be a Setup (a. Other available types of Automation are:
Setup changes (S)
Effect changes Mach A (EA)
Effect changes Mach B (EB)
-only available if a “split” setup is running
Parameter Glide Mach A (PA)
Parameter Glide Mach E (PB) -only available if a “split” setup is running
Parameter Glide Setup (PS)
Now, press the key under “PlOl”. You can now use the Soft knob to scroll
through the entire list of setups, including any Setup registers whiih you might
have stored. (Remember, the first entry must be a Setup.) Once you decide
which Setup you want to startthe list, press STORE. Your first event has all the
nessessaty elements: a time code address, the type of automaton change, and
the event to which it changes.
To move on to edit #2, press the key directly above “Ol”, then turn the Soft knob
one ?icK.
Once you’ve got the list edited, and want to test a pofiion of it, press CNTRL. Ths
will bring you back to the main time code menu. Locate the time code source
machine to the top of the production piece, Give yourself a 5 second preroll.
*NOTE: Your first Event (Edit #1) should occur before first picture or music. You
may have to trimedit the first eventto reflectthis-Afterall, you reallydon’twant
the300 cueing upthefirst Setupwhilemusicordialogispassingthrough the box.
From Edit mode, selectthe &digfttimemde numberbypressingeifherofthe fwo Trimming Time COdeS
keys above the time code entry. Use the Soft knob to increase or decrease the in the Event List
time code value. Usually, when first using time code automation, your first event
will need to be trimmed up several seconds to allow the first Setup to load before
audio, as expalined above. Turn the Soft knob counter-clockwise. When the
correct number is displayed, press STORE.
Press CNTRLto return to the main time code menu. Press VIEW. If you’ve given
yourself the correct “pre-roll”, roll tape. The 300 should displaytime code and all
subsequent events which you have programmed into the Event List.
