Base Sensor Test
Use this to determine that the sensors located inside the printer are operating correctly.
The following sensors can be checked using this test:
Narrow Media
Input
Exit/Output
Front Door
CAUTION—SHOCK HAZARD: Do not use your hand to toggle these switches. Use a nonconducting
item.
To run the test:
1 From the Diagnostics menu, navigate to Base Sensor Test.
2 Choose a sensor.
3 Manually actuate the sensor to verify that it toggles. If the sensor does not toggle, then it is malfunctioning.

4 Press X to exit the test.
Device Tests
Flash Test
This test
verifies
the condition of the
flash
device by writing data to it and then reading data from it.
Warning—Potential Damage: This test deletes all data on the flash device.
1 From the Diagnostics menu, navigate to:
DEVICE TESTS > Flash Test
2 Files will be lost. Go/Stop? appears.
3 Do any of the following:
Press OK to continue.
Press X to cancel.
4 When the test starts, Flash Test Testing… appears. The test cannot be stopped or canceled after it
has begun.
5 After the test is complete, a message appears indicating a pass or fail result.
6 Press X to return to the Device tests menu.
7 Reformat the flash device using the Flash format setting in the Utilities menu.
