If the vehicle detects an impact
during a rear-end collision, the
front part of the head restraint
moves forward and upward to
help reduce the risk of whiplash
to the seat occupant.
When reversing, even a small
amount of force applied from the
rear, such as a minor rear impact,
may cause the head restraints to
move.
