Information below from drawing A19443, Sheet 16:
For a crane with a boom length of 55 m (180.5 ft), connect the strut cap (B) to the jib backstay spreader (D) as
shown below:
• Using an assist crane (A) and the Drum 1 or Drum 2 wire rope (C), position the strut cap (B) over the end of the
jib backstay spreader (D) as shown.
• Connect the lowest strut cap strap (G) to the jib backstay spreader (D) using pin, collar, pin assembly. Before
trying to connect, align the holes first by setting the backstay link (J) on the strut tray (I).
• Attach the strut cap (B) to the main strut transition insert (H) as shown in Figure 4-37
.
